A transplant from western New York State, Chris is well suited to appreciate the majestic California landscape and glorious climate.  The ever-changing boundary between land and sea captivates her and she uses her palette and brushes to capture the play of light on the mist and the rugged cliffs and shores.

Chris’s loves her “work place”… the ocean cliffs and rolling hills of California.  Her love for the environment brings a deep commitment for causes that preserve the lands she captures on canvas.  She wants future generations to have the same opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty around us, just as she does now.

Chris was commissioned to paint a vineyard vista for a national TV and print advertising campaign, and was hired as technical advisor to the creative director.  She appeared live on KRON-TV teaching Henry Tenenbaum to oil paint.  She participates in Marin/Scapes and the Baywood Artists group. The Marin Conservation League showcased her painting on the cover of its Annual Report.  She marvels at the fun experiences that come with a painting life.

She has exhibited in the Sausalito Art Fesival, the Napa Valley Museum, Bolinas Museum, the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art, di Rosa Preserve, the I. Wolk Gallery, William Lester Gallery, Blinn House in Pasadena, the Runnymede Sculpture Farm in Woodside and a number of plein air paint outs.  Her work has won many awards, including the “Crystal Award of Excellence” at the California Fine Art Competition. 

Her work is collected internationally.  She is represented by the Spindrift Gallery in Gualala and has a small gallery in her studio in Sausalito.  She belongs to the California Art Club, Marin Arts Council and Sausalito Artists @ Work.  She is happy everyday for her studio overlooking the San Francisco Bay.
